ToT on Leadership, Collective Bargaining & Negotiation, OSH, Labour Law and GBV for Cadre of Young Workers of the Tannery Industry
With the financial and technical support of The Asia Foundation (TAF), Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) organized a 3 days long residential TOT on Leadership, Collective Bargaining & Negotiation, OSH, Labour Law and GBV for Cadre of Young Workers of the Tannery Industry. The training was organized at CCDB Hope Foundation, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka on 29th December 31st December 2021. 30 selected young workers from different factories of the Tannery Industries participated in the training where 10 were female. The main objective of the training is to increase the knowledge and build the capacity of the participants. It is expected that participants will be able to facilitate awareness sessions to organize the workers and will be able to perform to improve the workplace environment of the factory. It is also expected that after the end of the training participant will be able to handle their problems and negotiate effectively. TAF and BLF jointly facilitated the training. Md. Taherul Islam, Program Manager, A M Sajjad Hossain, Senior Program Officer and Samiha Jamil, Consultant facilitated the session on behalf of The Asia Foundation. Mahmudul Hasan Khan, Deputy Director (Program). Khandaker Faisal Ahmed, Program Coordinator, Israt Janhan, Senior Program Officer and Nukum Uddin, Training Officer facilitated the session on behalf of BLF. Mr. Sayed Nahid Hasan, Labour Inspector of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) and Dr. Parven Joly, Associate Professor of Jahangir Nagar University was present in the training as a guest facilitator and facilitated a session on Labour Law and Gender Based Violence (GBV). After the end of the training certificates were given to the participants for successful completion of the TOT course.
