Fire Prevention Week – 2024“Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” Fire safety is a critical issue in the garment industry,
In the bustling streets of Keraniganj, where the hum of sewing machines creates a rhythmic melody, a group of cutting masters has taken a stand against child labor. These unsung heroes of the factories are joining forces to bring an end to the exploitation of young minds and hands, envisioning a future where adult workers replace their younger counterparts.
At the forefront of this movement are two influential entities – the Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE). Together, they have embarked on a mission to eradicate child labor from Keraniganj by the year 2025. This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to create lasting and meaningful change in the informal Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector.
The STOP CHILD LABOUR Campaign in Keraniganj is more than just a movement; it’s a pledge to ensure that the innocence of childhood is preserved, and young minds are allowed to flourish in a nurturing environment. The cutting masters firmly believe that replacing child workers with responsible adult workers is the key to building a sustainable and ethical industry.
The Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) play pivotal roles in driving this campaign forward. Their expertise, dedication, and collaboration are the driving forces behind the initiative. By working hand-in-hand, these organizations are striving to enforce regulations, create awareness, and foster an environment that rejects the exploitation of child labor.
