Labour Inspectors’ Checklist for the Tannery Sector in Bangladesh

A comprehensive checklist is now available for the labour inspectors of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) working in Bangladesh’s tannery sector. Ensure better compliance, workplace safety, and environmental responsibility!
Today, 26th September 2024 the independent checklist for the tannery sector has finally disseminated. Mr. A.H.M Shafiquzzaman, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment disseminated the checklist among the stakeholders and media as Chief Gueat. Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Inspector General, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) attended the program as special guest. Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan, Additional Inspector General, DIFE presided over the workshop.
 
Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) has started the journey of development of Tannery Sector Checklist under the National Plan of Action to Ensure Social Compliance in the Savar Tannery Estate, Savar with DIFE. It is commissioned by Mondiaal FNV and further GIZ Bangladesh also joined the journey.
Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) has been working to ensure the sustainability of the Bangladesh Tannery Sector since long. We believe with this checklist, the sector will move forward to the next level to achieve the required compliance.
