Towards an Unemployment Protection System in Bangladesh Capacity Building and Learning Sharing
Bangladesh is heading to develop unemployment insurance scheme in started from the formal sector which will later synchronised with the both formal and informal sector workers in Bangladesh.
In a recent workshop co-organized by the ILO and the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) of Bangladesh, in partnership with the ILO’s knowledge partner, Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID), the participants developed a roadmap to inaugurate the unemployment insurance scheme for formal sector workers in Bangladesh. The roadmap will later share with the policy level for its further implementation
A k m Ashraf uddin, the Executive Director of Bangaldesh Labour Foundation participated in the workshop and brought the issue of workers during planning and implementation of this scheme.
