Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) organized a Training for the Safety Committee Members of Local RMG in Keraniganj. The training was organized at Cusie Development Centre, Keraniganj on 22^nd October, 2021. The main objective of this training is to build the capacity of the safety committee members on how to ensure decent workplace in the factory of local market RMG sector. Functions, roles & responsibilities of safety committee, implementation of labour law in regards to occupational safety and health discussed in the training. In local market RMG, BLF facilitated to form tower-based safety committee in assistance with Trade Unions and local market RMG Owners Associations. 20 members from 4 different tower-based safety committee participated in the training. Mahmudul Hasan Khan, Deputy Director Program of BLF facilitated the training along with the professional guest facilitator. After the main sessions of the training, each safety committee prepared individual Action Plan to develop their workplace environment and ensure the workers safety. It was decided that after three month each safety committee will sit together with the support of BLF to review their progress and review their plan accordingly.
