Strengthening Decent Work & Safe Workplaces in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched an initiative to strengthen awareness and capacity of mid-level factory management and workers’ representatives. The program’s main objectives are to prevent gender-based violence (GBV), advance decent work principles, and set up efficient anti-harassment committees and grievance procedures in industrial settings.

Building Inclusive and Safer Workplaces

The concept helps factories create safer, more respectable, and inclusive settings through interactive, on-site training sessions. Additionally, it promotes meaningful social communication between employees and management and strengthens industrial connections.

Key Messages

  • Giving workers and management useful knowledge promotes courteous, harassment-free workplaces.
  • Effective anti-harassment committees and easily accessible grievance procedures are critical to worker protection and responsibility.
  • Integrity and sustainability in the workplace are strengthened by adherence to international standards and national labor regulations.
  • Increased cooperation and trust between employees and management lead to more stable and fruitful working relationships.

This initiative was implemented under the SWAPNO II Programme, contributing to better working conditions and stronger worker–management relationships across industrial workplaces in Bangladesh.
