Plenary Session- Fair Climate Fair Future: Advancing Climate Justice and Just Transition

The plenary session about Fair Climate Fair Future: Advancing Climate Justice and Just Transition was oderated by Naimul Ahsan Jewel, Member Secretary, NCCWE, the session brought together leaders from labour, development, agriculture, energy, and international organizations to discuss how Bangladesh can move toward a Just Transition that ensures climate justice and a fair future for workers and communities.

Abul Kalam Azad, Project Coordinator, ActionAid, emphasized the urgent need for a clear framework rooted in climate justice, intergenerational equity, and workers’ rights. Panelists included Taslima Akter (BGSS), Dr. Mohammad Emran Hasan (Oxfam in Bangladesh), Saif Islam (ILO), Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam (NCCWE), Abu Syed Belal (EU Delegation to Bangladesh), Muqeeb Majumdar Babu (Prokrity O Jibon Foundation), and Selim Reza Hasan (Solidaridad Bangladesh).

Speakers stressed the need for social protection, skill development, policy reform, and international cooperation to ensure climate action creates better jobs, cleaner environments, and a sustainable future for all.
