Workshop on LRC Recommendation on Child Labour with CLEP
On 23 July 2025, Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) organized a workshop in Dhaka under the Child Labour Elimination Platform (CLEP), engaging 21 CSOs and development organizations. The session focused on the current child labour situation, the Labour Reform Commission’s recommendations, and how CSOs can contribute to national efforts.
Child labour remains a serious concern in Bangladesh, especially in informal and hazardous sectors. Despite legal efforts, many children are still engaged in exploitative work. To address this, the Labour Law Reform Commission has proposed key recommendations for eliminating child labour. Civil society organizations (CSOs) play a vital role in raising awareness, monitoring, and advocating for child rights.
The workshop is part of a broader project by BLF, supported by Mondiaal FNV, aimed at eliminating child labour and improving labour standards in Bangladesh’s RMG sector to ensure a safe, decent, and violence-free work environment.
