Just Transition TOT for young and women leaders

Bangladesh Labour Foundation – BLF in association with Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS and with the support from Mondiaal FNV successfully organized a 3-day long (June 18-21) Training of Trainers (TOT) program for young and women trade union leaders from the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector.
This transformative initiative brought together emerging leaders who have now formed a dedicated core group to implement a Just Climate, Energy, and Technology Transition in Bangladesh. In the face of growing challenges like climate change, automation, and energy Transition, these leaders are stepping forward to ensure that the transition is fair, inclusive, and centered on workers’ rights and well-being.
The TOT equipped participants with essential knowledge, leadership skills, and advocacy tools to raise awareness, influence policy, and mobilize workers across factories and communities. These trained leaders will also build the capacity of their own trade unions and federations to actively engage in shaping and implementing Just Transition strategies.
This core group will play a crucial role in protecting jobs, promoting resilience, and driving worker-centered solutions—contributing to a greener and more equitable future of work in Bangladesh.
