Bangladesh Labour Foundation has observed International Home based Workers Day 2024 at Savar, Dhaka. We organized various events such as Rally, Meeting, Craft Competition, Exhibition and price giving ceremony with the support of EU and Oxfam GB.
Home-based RMG workers play a significant role in the RMG supply chain but remain invisible due to informal work arrangements. They are left unrecognized under labour laws, denied social protection, and paid low piece rates. To raise awareness and organize these workers, a project titled “Promoting Decent Work and Organizing Targeted Home-Based RMG Workers (HBRMGWs) Engaged in Formal RMG” is being implemented by Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF)
Our Efforts are being made to develop the leadership of selected home-based RMG women workers and sensitize policymakers and authorities to their need for recognition.
