The workshop brought together workersโ representatives, trade unions, the International Labour Organization (ILO), civil society organizations, and development partners to create a platform for developing a Workersโ Position Paper for COP31 and ensuring that workersโ experiences and priorities are reflected in Bangladeshโs climate agenda.
Putting Workers at the Heart of the Climate Agenda

The workshop emphasized that the objective is not simply to prepare another policy document, but to build a collective workersโ voice grounded in real workplace experiences, sectoral realities, and the priorities of workers across Bangladesh.
A meaningful Just Transition must place workers at the centre of climate action and ensure that their voices, rights, livelihoods, and aspirations shape Bangladeshโs COP31 position.
